Special Instructions for Year-End Gifts

The Painted Turtle will be closed for the holidays from December 25, 2025 to January 1, 2026.

If you would like to make a donation for the 2025 tax year, there are several options available:

Online credit card donations can be done by clicking here and may be made until 11:59 p.m. PST on December 31 through our secure website.

Check and money order contributions mailed to the office and postmarked by the United States Postal Service by December 31, 2025, will be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law in 2025. Please note that this rule does not apply to other carriers such as FedEx and UPS; in those cases, the contribution must be physically received by The Painted Turtle on or before December 31. To ensure delivery of such items, please do not require a signature for delivery.

Give the gift of Camp!

When Paul Newman founded The Painted Turtle camp, he envisioned a place where children with serious illnesses could kick back, relax, and “raise a little hell.” Each year, thousands of campers fulfill Paul’s legacy, embarking on journeys to reclaim their childhoods and rediscover just who they are beyond the illnesses that shape their lives. Each donation is greatly appreciated and will help fund the costs of meals, medical care, and mountains of fun. Camp is always free of charge.

Gifts of Stocks or Securities

Gifts of securities are a great way to support The Painted Turtle while providing you with a tax deduction for the current, full market value of the securities. There are three main types of securities that can be donated to camp: publicly traded stock in a corporation, shares in a mutual fund, or bonds. A gift of securities is often advantageous to the donor who owns stock with a low yield, have been held long-term, and have increased in value.
