Thirty-two players took to the courts at the historic Griffin Club Los Angeles on Sunday, May 5th, to raise funds ensuring that Painted Turtle Camp experiences will always be free of charge! Advanced and Intermediate Pickleball players competed for ten winning spots with some incredible prizes!

Special thanks to everyone who came out to play, to all our winners, and of course to our sponsors, donors, and volunteers for making the event possible!

Co-Founder of The Painted Turtle, Page Adler, kicked off the event by sharing a heartfelt letter from a camper parent outlining the impact a week at The Painted Turtle made on her son.

Camp gave our son a newfound sense of freedom and joy that his disease had taken away. Being surrounded by other campers with the same or similar experiences allowed him to relax and be completely himself, because there, he wasn’t “different.” Being tended to by staff who’s mission it is to support not only the physical needs, but also the emotional needs of campers, was a gift beyond words. It was a life-altering experience. Thank you for all you do for these children. Please know that you impact not only the campers, but their families as well.

Guests enjoyed festive Cinco de Mayo foods and beverages throughout the event and took home a gift bag brimming with goodies including Pickleball Blast – a boardgame from Moose Toys, water bottles from J. Pritchard, discounts on luxury ride share services from Alto, Fig Newmans from Newman’s Own, Selkirk Pickleballs, and some Painted Turtle swag!

Prize baskets included Selkirk Paddles and Bag Bundles, a Short Court Courtside Collection for two, J. Pritchard custom court outfits, two gorgeous bikes from The Bike Shop Santa Monica, premium tickets to an LA Galaxy Soccer match, a beautiful Pickleball bag from Georgie & Lou complete with a Recess Paddle, and pickleball clinics from the Santa Monica Pickleball Center! Each winner also received court time at Pickle Pop in Santa Monica as well as a membership to Alto – Elevated Ride Share.
