Youth Volunteer Opportunities
For individuals under the age of 19 there are many ways to get involved. (Volunteers who work at sessions with campers must be at least 19.)
Please make sure to ask a parent’s permission before letting us know how you would like to help. If you are seeking community service hours or school credit, please check with your school before starting a project to confirm it will meet their requirements. If you need to get our signature for community service hours, you must ask permission in advance of completing your project. Questions? Please contact info@thepaintedturtle.org.
Organize a Wish List Drive
Enlist the help of classmates, community members, friends, or
family to help gather items from our Wish List. Each donation of
supplies helps us to keep camp running smoothly!

Donate Lap Quilts or Turtle Pillows
All of our campers receive handmade turtle pillows and quilts to help them feel more at home during their week at camp. If you know how to crochet or sew, you can make a quilt, afghan, or turtle pattern. Learn more about these Sewing Projects.
Host a fundraising event
Organize an event at your school where classmates can contribute donations. Create a community lemonade stand, bake sale, or car wash and donate your profits to The Painted Turtle. For more information, see Organize an Event.
Volunteer at a day event
We have a variety of day volunteer opportunities and events located at our camp site and throughout the local community. During some of these events, we welcome participation for volunteers under the age of 19. All volunteer participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Please check our upcoming events section for potential opportunities.
For 18 year-olds only
If you are currently 18 years old, but will be 19 by the start of the camp session you are interested in attending, you are eligible to apply to volunteer during family weekends or summer sessions.
